GETTING TO SOUTHWEST DC

The CIRCULATER is back!

These changes better align DDOT’s resources with growing activity centers like the Southwest Waterfront and improve the reliability of Circulator. Find more information on the Circulator website.

The Blue, Orange, and Silver lines of the Washington Metro have the following stations in the Southwest Federal Center: Smithsonian, L’Enfant Plaza, and Federal Center SW. The Yellow line also stops at L’Enfant Plaza.

The Green line has stops at Southwest Federal Center, L’Enfant Plaza and Southwest Waterfront.   The Navy Yard – Ballpark stop is one block outside the eastern boundary of the Southwest Waterfront neighborhood.

Use the WMATA Trip Planner to find directions.

Temporary full closures on Howard Road, SE between the WMATA parking garage and Firth Sterling Ave., SE and Suitland Parkway, SE between South Capitol Street, SE/SW and Firth Avenue, SE are set to occur nightly from Monday, January 4, 2021 through January 11, 2021 as noted in the attached document.
All overnight full closures with detours will start at 8:00 pm and end by 6:00am.
