Volunteering is about giving, contributing and helping other individuals and the community. Volunteering is working with others to make a meaningful contribution to a better community. The value of volunteering is much deeper, much more fulfilling and much more important in contributing to a healthy and vibrant community than money can ever measure.
Volunteering is rich and diverse. It’s not just about organizing volunteers for events. For SWNA, volunteering is providing information and education. It’s providing scholarships, youth activities, computer training to youth and seniors, supporting mentoring and workforce education programs and more! SWNA believes volunteering is helping, not hiring; giving, not taking; contributing, not counting.
To get involved and be a part of the Southwest DC community in a real and impactful way, please consider joining a SWNA Task Force. SWNA Task Forces work to better our community.
